Route Notes

This 200 is all within Co. Wicklow and takes in sections familiar to Audaxers from other events. As it is Wicklow there is lots of climbing. Total ascent is just over 3,500m but with that there is also over 3,500m of descent.
The route starts and finishes in the picturesque West Wicklow village of Dunlavin. With its wide streets, there is ample free parking. As it is a permanent, you can also start anywhere along the route and finish at your start point.
Leaving Dunlavin, the route heads south east around the Glen of Imaal with its views of Lugnaquilla. Up over the Ballinabarny Gap and south to Tinahely. It is advisable to have a rest stop in Tinahely (42km) or Aughrim (54km) as after Aughrim there are 3 successive climbs: Ballinagappoge, Slievemaan and Shay Elliott (840m over the next 25km).
After the descent off Shay Elliott, the route continues through the Vale of Clara and the town of Rathdrum (94km). Head north through Roundwood to Enniskerry (129km) and around Powerscourt. The route then heads west across the Sally Gap into Manor Kilbride and then around Blessington Lakes. Leaving the lakes, cross over the Kings River, up Hollywood Hill and down into the village of Hollywood. After that it is a short ride back to Dunlavin.

Lots of shops for food along the route. Depending on your start point, plan accordingly.
