Last weekend’s blustery Red Line/Red Lane 600 saw Stuart McClean, David Finnigan (Audax Ireland) and Eamon Nealon (Ballina C.C) become first time Super Randonneurs. Well done on this admirable achievement and indeed well done to all who have participated in Audax event this year.
Update: Paddy Gillick also became a Super Randonneur for the first time. Congrats Paddy!
Congratulations and well done to the new Super Randonneurs.
Getting your first SR is always a challenge.
First time for Paddy Gillick too, if I’m not much mistaken.
yes your right there paddy two is a super randonneur ,well done paddy from your mate in the west .e
Paddy managed to get himself out of bed early enough 4 times last year to become a Super Randonneur in 2012.Had to go down to the archive to dig the dates out but he rode several 200’s, The Quiet Man, REK and The Red Line/Red Lane amongst others.Good show Paddy.
Oops was mixing Paddy up with Reave so Congratulations Paddy on knocking out your first Super Randonneur this year.
Apologies gentlemen….
I have not done an SR….I dont get out of bed for anything less than a 300, hence I have not completed a 200 and not done an SR.
As far as I know, you can do a longer distance in place of a shorter distance, for example 300,300,400,600 instead of 200,300,400,600, so well done!
Aha, I see now…Thanks Pat.
You can indeed substitute longer rides for shorter ones.
My 2011 SR was three 600s and a 1200…
