Route Description:

This a 305k event taking in 6 MEGALITHIC SITES in CO MEATH. THE FOUR KNOCKS, NEWGRANGE, KNOWTH, SLIEVE BREAGH, BARROW CEMETERY, and LOUGH CREW and TARA.

Starting at WHITEHALL CHURCH CAR PARK, heading for FINGLAS, ST MARGERETS, NEW BARN and BALLYMADUN. From BALLYMADUN swinging north to GARRISTOWN and from the periphery of GARRISTOWN onto MAN O’WAR via the NAGS HEAD, winding across to THE FOUR KNOCKS via STAMULLEN, BELLEWSTOWN and HEATHTOWN CROSS.

Onto NEWGRANGE and KNOWTH taking in DONORE, KNOWTH and Tullyallen. Retracing the route back out of Tullyallen the road rolls across to SLIEVE BREAGH. From here head west for LOUGH CREW, visting LOBINSTOWN, CASTLETOWN and MOYNALTY. Into KELLS and from here out to LOUGH CREW. From LOUGH CREW the next and final site is TARA. Head for CROSSAKEL from there, turning south to CORTOWN, BOHERMEEN, DUNDERRY, through ROBINSTOWN, BECTIVE and onto KILMESSAN. Turn left out of KILMESSAN to the the final site, TARA.

The final leg is a flat run in after the descent off TARA via SKREEN, OBERSTOWN XR, RATHOATH, KILBRIDE, FINGLAS and onto WHITEHALL.
