Route Description:
The Banner 200 starts in the square in Kilrush and heads north to Kilkee. From there you will cycle along one of the most scenic sections of the Wild Atlantic Way through Milltown Malbay, Lahinch, Liscannor and along by the cliffs of Moher. After passing through Doolin and with the Atlantic Ocean on your left and the sea of limestone that is the Burren on your right, you will travel round Black Head and onto Ballyvaughan.
After leaving Ballyvaughan, your route will take you into the heart of the Burren. A few minutes spent visiting the 4,500 year old “Poulnabrone Dolmen” brings its own rewards. Finally as you continue on towards Kilnaboy, you will have a welcome break as you are welcomed into Fr. Teds House for some tea and refreshments, before heading into Corofin and then onto Ennis.
Heading towards “The Hand” crossroads you will pass through the village of Connolly and turning left at The Hand, your route will take you through the villages of Coore and Mullagh. From there you are on the final section as you pass through Cree, Cooraclare and on to Kilrush for a welcome pint or two at the Finish.
