CI Licence required. One day Licence available for €20. This will be charged automatically on Eventmaster if you do not have a valid Cycling Ireland Annual Licence.

A route sheet will be provided but the use of a sat nav is highly recommended as the majority of the route will be on local roads with no sign posts. Although this is a 3 cow event, the road surface is generally very good with only one short gravel section in Killykeen Forest Park.

Route description: Discover the magic of Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, Cavan, Leitrim and Roscommon, and enjoy a beautifully unspoiled part of Ireland where life moves at its own pace. Cycle across rolling hills, mountains and open valleys, see some of the many lakes, waterways, forest and bog lands. This route starts in Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan (in Ulster so might be of interest for people aiming for the 4 Provinces challenge) and less than 100km from Dublin.

Parking: there is ample parking in Ballyjamesduff but please don’t use the parking spaces in front of Shops and local businesses

Facilities: Riders must bring or buy their own food & refreshments on route.

Controls: 54km Killashandra (Gala at petrol station), 94km Drumshanbo (Centra on the main road), 112km Drumkeeran (photo of Peace Tree or any other proof of passage), 186km Cavan (Costcutter at Top petrol station on Railway Rd.)

Proof of passage: Brevet Cards will be used
