The Mick Byrne 100 (108km !) is the shortest in a series of rides designed to honour Mick Byrne, who was an instrumental character in the world of Irish Cycling for several decades. Mick enthusiastically encouraged and nurtured several generations of South County Dublin Youth to try cycling and was a founder member of both Sorrento C.C and Hibernia C.C, two Dunlaoghaire based clubs. Despite being a very competitive road cyclist, his primary love was always touring and the routes have been designed to cover some iconic South Dublin/North Wicklow cycling roads.

All riders should complete and submit the Entry Form below.

Route Description: The route begins at Cuala GAA Club in Dalkey village, passes Mick’s house after 1km, then takes in scenic Vico Road with views of Sugarloaf Mt and Bray Head. Onwards via Killiney Village (beware of traffic calming ramps on very fast descent from 4k-5.5k). After Shankill we join more rural roads, entering County Wicklow we pass through Enniskerry, Roundwood and  Moneystown before descending to Laragh. This is a good spot to stock up before ascending Sally Gap to return home via Enniskerry, The Scalp and Killiney.

All-in-all a challenging day, but a particularly rewarding trip if you are unfamiliar with the roads of Dalkey/Killiney.
